Introduction to Gender Identity Workshop

This is an introductory workshop exploring gender diversity, which aims to increase awareness of gender diversity and the roles we can take in supporting people who are trans, gender diverse and/or gender non-conforming. This workshop is a special fundraiser for the Radical Therapist Network QTBPOC therapy fund, to support 20 queer, trans, or intersex, Black people and people of colour to access free weekly therapy for a year. What will the workshop cover?

  • Reflecting on your own gender and your awareness of gender

  • Understanding gender as Bio-Psycho-Social

  • Understanding key terms relating to gender and trans issues

  • Understanding what’s happening with trans rights in the World/UK

  • Reflecting on the actions that you can take to support the trans community and support trans and gender diverse clients

The workshop will be on zoom. It will be 3 hours long with a 15 minute break, and will involve personal reflection, presentation of information, group discussion and discussion in small breakout rooms. After the workshop you will receive a document with key terms and information from the workshop and a list of further resources for you to explore. You will also receive a 3 hour CPD certificate.
