On Being White & Other: Unlearning and exploration for colonized white ethnic minorities (closed group)

Please note that applications are now closed and places have been allocated.

This closed group of 8-10 people is for white or white/presenting or ‘passing’ ethnic minorities who have colonized ancestry/ are part of diasporas or homelands that were colonized, or come from a colonized culture. This group is an opportunity to explore our own personal and collective histories of colonization, to bring our stories of culture, ethnicity and ancestors with the intention to find a sense of rootedness.

The 8 sessions will invite us to stay with the nuance of the duality of holding power and privilege as white (passing/presenting) people, as well as the lived experience of cultural trauma and violence. This held space will challenge us to work towards a more robust anti-racist praxis through making conscious and disrupting our own complicity and racism within this complex work.

Sessions are 2 hours long (7pm-9pm GMT) and will take place every other week over a period of 3 months. You must attend all 8 sessions and have a white/mixed heritage of colonized history to be eligible to apply. Your place will be secured upon full payment.

This group will be co-facilitated by Lucia Sarmiento and Sage M Stephanou.
